Our BT Voyager 2110 has the wireless disabled cos wires are ok for us.
Does this actually kill the signal from the antenna ? reason I ask it's
located near my bed
and I don't want to be bombarded with radio waves all night unnecessarily.

Yes it does.

Don't keep your mobile phone (switched on) near your bed because the dose
from that will be much higher than from a wireless router. Strange how it's
only routers and not mobile phones or microwave ovens (they do leak a very
small amount of power) which are "bad".

Better ask them to turn off the TV & radio transmitters, the sun
(during the day, obviously!) and all other radiation sources then. You
may also want to have a long chat with Lenny.

BTW if you live in Cornwall, you're doomed ;-)

Or, just wear a tin foil hat.

Does that work against radon gas too?

No, but a polythene bag keeps all types of gas out.

Nah, what you need is a microwave cap to wear in bed......
http://www.handy-fashions.com/e-cap.html

You can then sleep easy knowing that your mobile phone or router won't fry
your brains.

Have you asked the BBC to cease their transmissions?

lol ..and there's me living 4 miles from the Mendip transmitter and
2 fields from a Vodafone mast !
Still at least I live in a new extension with aluminium covered insulation
in the cavities and reflective lined curtains !
Perhaps I'll rephrase the OP .. can I save electricity by turning off the
wireless option.?!
Cheers all, Chris.

Have you checked the design to make sure you aren't creating hotspots in the
room?
You need small gaps with electrical bonding completely surrounding the room
to make it into a Faraday cage.. jus putting foil up may make matters much
worse. Opps! don't tell Lenny or he will start looking for more "science"
to prove something.
