Does any ISP provide a combo Wireless Modem, Router, Firewall...?

Hi, Am thinking of going the wireless route for some home PCs.
Is a combo wireless router/modem and firwall a good idea? If so does any ISP
include it in their starting package (looking for approx £24pm).

Or is it better/cheaper to buy a separate modem(ethernet!) and wireless
router.

There are several wireless router/modem "All in One" options - including:

Netgear DG834G
Belkin model: F5D7630
Linksys WAG54G
US Robotics USR9106
Draytek Vigor 2600G

However, you won't find any ISP giving them "free" in a starting package as
they are quite expensive.

BulldogDSL offer the Netgear
(http://www.bulldogdsl.com/special_offers.asp#netgear) as a "starter pack"
but you may be better off buying it from Amazon/Ebuyer etc

This option will be more expensive though it may make upgrading easier.

All these options are "54G"/802.11b solutions, those based on the
older/slower 802.11b will be cheaper

Netgear is the worst, Draytek the best. Rest OK.
However there is not much point going for the 54Mbps/ 802.11g spec, the
extra speed is only between your computers, no advantage for internet
access.
It's only worth it if you need to transfer gigabyte files between your
computers in a big hurry.

or stream video from a "home theatre PC/server" to a laptop etc. etc.

Exellent point (802.11g is no advantage for internet access). But are
there any "sub-802.11g" spec "All in Ones"?
I assume they are cheaper too!?

There are only one or two I am aware of.

All of the manufacturers 802.11b kit is still readily available, should be
getting cheaper too.
Draytek Vigor 2600We has all the features, easy to setup and reliable, not
cheap though.
Broadbanbuyer.co.uk or wireless4u.co.uk had best prices last time I looked.

I'm not aware of any inclusive starter packages offering such hardware but
if you want a truely all in one device you may consider buying the SMC
7404WBRA Barricade. Its reviewed here: http://adslguide.org/reviews/ . As
well as the features you're wanting, a good thing about this, which the
others don't have, is a built in parallel port print server so you can share
a parallel port printer between several PCs without one "server PC" needing
to be running. I have one and it works perfectly.

You also then have the freedom of easily being able to change ISPs without
having to give the hardware back - it's yours from the outset.
