I changed the domain in all of my computers from "localdomain" to "lan" and
now the Win98 computer can't see any of them.

All the others (WinXP and Linux) work just fine as x.lan, y.lan, z.lan, etc.

Whats up with W98?

I set the TCP/IP settings, under DNS, to a choosen hostname and "lan"
domain. Winipcfg even says that the Win98 computer is x.lan, but it can't
even ping the other computers' IPs. Its using the internet just fine
though.

WTF?

NM. I got it. It was in the wireless. W98 couldn't see the other
computers (even by IP) when connected to a specific 802.11a channel (50) but
can when connected to others (i.e., 58).

Nope, that doesn't make any sense at all, but that was exactly what was
going on...
