Do "super g" and MIMO need to be at both ends?

I'm going to be getting a laptop with built-in b/g wireless, and a
wireless router to go with it. I just assume the laptop won't have
any of the suped up versions, but just the standard b/g. Is there
any point in having the faster versions in the router if they aren't
duplicated at the other end?

I think you will a much better signal strength suped up, even if its not
faster.

Some do; some don't.
