It depends on how the system is set, and what it is comprised of.
If you have a Wireless Card that can be switched off by a physical switch,
and or PCMCIA that can be pulled out. Switch Off the card, or pull it out,
and boot with no functional card. The boot process without a Network card
usually would cleanup the old Network settings.
Switch On/ Boot again and install the Network again. If the wizard does not
works at the first time leave it alone and configure the Network manually.
After failed install make sure that No Ghost installation left in the device
manager,
