| Hey there!
|
| I installed an older router - a Link Sys DI-704(purchased about 2
| years ago) to my 2 home computers (both fast w/OS's XP Pro and Home).
| Connectivity between the two computers is great although there are
| definite lags when connecting to web sites not to mention that many
| times pictures don't load on the sites. A refresh fixes this half the
| time. Win security settings are all the same as before. More often
| than not only one, and my main, computer is up....
|
| Is the router such old tech that a newer one would do better? That's
| all I can think of although it doesn't seem right since there is only
| ONE computer connected thru the router to the internet 95% of the
| time... Not like mult comp's are vying for resourses...
|
| Any thoughts?
|
| Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, but only by a small amount known as latency.
Inexpensicve Routers and Ethernet Switches will tend to have higher latency than more
expensive usnits.
