How do i remote desktop to my machine- DSL connection?
I have a dynamic address but i can fix that when i get remote
connection working.
I went to whatismyipaddress.com.
I told me my address, which i am guessing must be the external IP of
my DSL modem.
61.69.X.X
I have my internal PC address assigned by my DHCP modem 192.168.0.x
Again i can set this to static, but it never changes anyway.
Obviously i cant establish a remote desktop connection with 61.69.x.x,
how do i get this to pass through to my XP SP2 PC from a public
connection?
Thanks

Hello,

this forum is dedicated to Windows server, networking part.
You should post to the Windows XP forum.

You should fisrt set up your xp to allow remote connection (in the remote
tab of the computer's property)
then you must make a firewall exception to allow inbound RDP.

forward port 3389 on the modem.

And use a service like DynDns so you don't have to worry about the dynamic IP
problem.
