How do I ping a router?

I have Windows ME and I want to ping my WLAN router. How do I do this?

Go to Command Prompt. Type:

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

where the x's are the router's IP address. Press Enter. This will make
a limited number of attempts to ping the router (usually 3). When you
want to close the command prompt window, type:

exit

then press Enter. If you want to start a continuous ping, put a space
after the router address, then:

-t

then press Enter. Pinging will continue until you stop it by holding
down the Ctrl key and pressing Break.

ping 192.168.1.1
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

sometimes you can just add the IP to your favorites list in your browser
192.168.1.1 --works with linksys
