Win 2003

If I try to open ports by looking at properties on the LAN connection
firewall , I get an error saying another app might be using ipnat ,
permission denied . I have configured the security configuration
Wizard but to be frank I cant make head nor tail of it.

Can a human wizard help

Chris

You may want to use netstat to find out which ports are in use. This how to
may help.
How to find open ports on a computer
You can use PULIST from the Windows Resource Kit to find which process
is using a specified port. For example, pulist |find /i "4125" may display

Sorry I failed to point out that I already know that the port that
my app Apcuspd needs open 3551. Is not open. hence the need to open
it.

Hello,

On my Windows 2003 server I open 'Manage Your Server' from
Start/Administrative Tools and select the option to configure the 'Remote
Access/VPN' server. Under my machine's NETBIOS name I expand 'IP Routing'
and select 'NAT/Basic Firewall'.

I right-click my Internet-facing NIC and choose 'Properties'. I then select
the 'Services And Ports' tab, third along the top, to configure ports to
open.

HTH.

Regards,

Nrth.
