Yes firewalls block ports. Firewalls are software programs like ZoneAlarm,
Symantec Client Firewall, Windows Firewall, and some virus program that
protect against internet worms. Generally there will be an icon for the
program in the lower right hand corner. Look at the icons and understand
what programs they represent, and what the programs do.Software and programs
mean basically the same thing. They are the instructions that tell your
computer what to do and how to do it.
