Yes, better to get an ADSL router, and a network card in your PC. in
my oppinion the connection is much more stable.
You have to put filters on yoru BT line to split out the voice channel
from the ADSL signal.
I have one of the older ADSL setups, my ADSL is presented to the house
as a box with two connectors, one phone, one ADSL.
If you want a BT modem ( the alcatel usb moden that BT used to ship,)
you can have mine Free. this uses your PC's USB, and can have problems
when PV's shut down USB ports for powersaving.
