Hello,

I'd like to connect to my Windows 2003 SP1 server via boot floppy. I'd also
like to do the same to my Windows XP SP2 workstation from another system.
(I'm using ghost).

Is there an easy way to do this?

Hi Boe,
If you want to install Windows XP from the network, using an image disk, you
will need RIS on the Windows Server 2003. For more details on how to install
RIS and create network boot floppy, read the following articles:

Remote Computers

Please let me know, if I misunderstood your question.

Thanks - I don't want to do a remote install of Windows - not sure if the
RIS will force me to go to setup or not - never tried it. I'm basically
trying to create a boot floppy or CD that will let me attach to the server
or a PC and run the ghost.exe so I can image the drive.

Hi,

Symantec's Ghost should have one. There are also some free download tools:

http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/network/

http://tdonline.com/bootdisk.htm

http://www.netbootdisk.com/

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...oot-Disk.shtml

I did not test them, but I think they should do the trick.
