Thank you for your response.
The DP-G301 definitely supports Win98. The manual has a whole section on
how to create a network printer port and add a printer driver with Win98.
Everything works well except when it comes to the Add Printer wizard. The
HP driver will not allow itself to be installed by the Add Print wizard. HP
insists that you use their HPsetup.exe program to install the print driver,
but unfortunately their software does not permit the entry of a network
port.
The print driver that is created by HP in Win98 does allow for LPT port
capture, which I assigned to my previouly configured print server port.
There may be a problem with the above procedure but what bothers me even
more is that I can't get the print server itself to talk through the
parallel port to the HP 722C that it is plugged in to. I think if that
doesn't work, then nothing else matters ?
