Hello,
I have installed the WPC55AG on my windows 98SE fujitsu laptop. The
software from linksys seems to be installed ok as I get the WLAN monitor
working.
(I have tried both from the website and the CD shipped with the card)

I get a message saying that it connects to access point and no
connection to internet.
But the problem is I don;t get connection to the internet ! If I use
wire connection it works fine ( I get and IP through DHCP and everything
is fine). The problem I see is there is no TCP/IP binding in the control
panel/network/properties for this card. How do I get this card to have a
tcp/ip service binding ? The software/driver install doesn't seem to be
doing this automatically ?

The router I am using is WRT55AG and it connects to my dsl service. I ve
2 other computers runnning fine. One of them is WinXP and it works fine
with wire and wireless.

This seems to be a common problem ? as I see this question asked many
places on the internet but not answers. Even the picture in the install
manual has this message about connecting to the access point and not to
the internet" .

I have tried tech support they are not much help, I am sure someone here
knows the answer. Thanks for any help/pointers.

- Joe

You should see the card listed. If you see the card you can then ADD
PROTOCOL to the card and then you should be all set. Wonder why it's
not added when you installed the card?? But see of that works...

I see the card and when I try to add tcp/ip service to that card it doesn't
work !
I have other network/modem cards and they all work fine and have a binding to
the tcp/ip service. For some reason I can;t add the tcp/ip service to this
WPC55AG card ?
Anyone know why ? OR how do I force win98 to have a tcp/ip service attached
to a card ? I think this is where my problem lies. Thanks for any
help/pointers.

I got tired of BS'ing around with mine and finally manually assigned the IP
and DNS values. It has worked fine ever since. If you installed the
Linksys/Cisco driver/software package for this card I can only surmise that
you have a malfunctioning card. Mine practically installed itself with the
right drivers using Win2K Pro.
