How do I get a Netgear WGR614 router to work with my Linksys adapter card?

I can access the Internet on my Linux system running slackware kernel v.
2.4.18. My network adapter card is a Linksys Fast Ethernet 10/100 model
NC100. The router I'm using is a Linksys BEFSX41. When I switched to using a
Netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router, I could no longer connect to the
Internet. There's no problem connecting from my notebook computer running
Windows XP.

The driver I'm using for the Linksys adapter card is tulip.

Does anyone have an idea of what I can do to enable Internet access using
the Netgear router with the Linux system? I already asked Netgear about it,
and they said they don't have the knowledge to assist me in the matter,
unless I pay for premium support.

You need a driver for the linksys adapter card.
Check if your card is supported bay ndiswrapper.

The NIC is not wireless and works just fine with the other router.

If your NIC works with the other router, the problem is at the new
Netgear router. You need to RTFM.

You're right. I got confused being the WGR614 a wireless router.

It's both wired and wireless and I'm assuming he's got his tulip card
plugged in. I sincerely hope he's not so dumb as to think the NC100
can connect wirelessly. But, you never know. Judging by the amount
of information he provided, anything is possible.

All you have to do is configure the netgear router approximately the same as
your prior router. Whatever ip address you previously used for the lan,
use that address when configuring the router so that you don't have to
change things around on each computer. Further, try
http://www.routerlogin.net to access your router from within the lan. I
don't know what it does for those not connected within the lan. Finally
immediately change the default password on the router once you're
connected, too many places have records of what the default password is for
your router.

I have a Netgear WGR614 v5 and it works perfectly well. All I had to do
was running 'netconfig' and then setup the card to use DHCP.

About 6 years ago I had two identical NICs that used the tulip driver. I
couldn't even get them to work with each other with a crossover cable w/o
constant lockups. I tossed both cards and never looked back.
