How do I change the SSID, Network Key and use MAC filter

Hi,

I've been looking at security tips for my new laptop & wireless network.
They all say to change SSID, network code and assign MAC but I can't find how
to do this for my existing connection.

Basic question I know ! Can anyone help ?
