Do all NTL newsserver names point to same server?

A year or so ago NTL had different newsservers and gave them
different names. For example:
news.ntlworld.com
text.news.ntlworld.com
news.cable.ntlworld.com
newscache.cable.ntlworld.com
news.cable.ntl.com
news.cache.cable.ntlworld.com
news.cache.ntlworld.com
etc

---------------

Now I can only find these three different IP addresses for Usenet
servers:

news.cable.ntl.com
= [ 194.168.222.120 ] = [ newsfe1-gui.server.ntli.net ]
news.virgin.net
= [ 194.168.222.120 ] = [ newsfe1-gui.server.ntli.net ]
news.tesco.net
= [ 194.168.222.120 ] = [ newsfe1-gui.server.ntli.net ]

news.ntlworld.com
= [ 62.253.162.202 ] = [ newsfe2-win.server.ntli.net ]

text.news.ntlworld.com
= [ 194.168.222.122 ] = [ newsfe3-gui.server.ntli.net ]
news.cable.ntlworld.com
= [ 194.168.222.122 ] = [ newsfe3-gui.server.ntli.net ]

---------------

However by extrapolation of the number sequence in the server
name [ newsfe3-gui.server.ntli.net ] I get these working servers:

[ newsfe4-gui.server.ntli.net ] = [ 194.168.222.123 ]
[ newsfe5-gui.server.ntli.net ] = [ 194.168.222.124 ]
[ newsfe6-gui.server.ntli.net ] = [ 194.168.222.125 ]
[ newsfe7-gui.server.ntli.net ] = [ 194.168.222.126 ]

---------------

Are all these 7 actually separate servers?

Is anyone able to tell how fast the different servers are?

Maybe someone has an automated PING utility to see which ones are
fatsest at different times of the day to see which ones cope best
with peak loads.

Nowt wrong with Pipex's servers. Can't remember the address for the
giganews server but it's pretty damn good in my opinion.

I had endless trouble with it. I sent posts and they never got posted, the
groups were often out of date and it was very slow. Can't fault them for
anything else though, they were a very good ISP, just their news server (at
least from my POP) was toss.
