True, but the way this works is that DNS strips off the domain name, then
queries WINS with the unqualified name, NetBIOS doesn't know or care that the
NetBIOS name query is comming from a DNS server.
It looks like MS coded it so that it only does this for the top level DNS
domain in a given zone, if the name presented is for a sub-domain, it just
doesn't forward the query to WINS, this makes absolutely no sense, why limit
it to the top level domain.
