Hello. I have a Compaq Presario 7040 running Windows
98SE. It was working OK and then its ethernet NIC
appeared to have died, ie I could not acquire an IP addres
from the DHCP server. I purchased a D-Link DFE-530TX+ PCI
card and installed it. I had no problems with the
installation process (I do not recall any questions
regarding the specific version of Windows I am running).
Now DNS resolution does not appear to be working. I can
PING addresses out in the Internet, I did an IPCONFIG /ALL
command and it listed four DNS servers from my ISP, tried
to reconfig my TCPIP parms to force it to uses these
addresses, but whenever I try to setup a browser session
to the Internet, I get a DNS failure regardless of the
site I am attempting to access, and when I try to PING
names, like www.yahoo.com, it fails also. Any suggestions?
