What would cause a server to not be located by its name? The problem is from
one office to another connected via VPN. The connection is up, I can ping
the IPaddress, and when I go in DNS I am seeing the records (yes they have
the right IPaddress). Normally it will straighten out after a while or after
I kick it few times by restarting DNS service.
It doesnt make since why this keeps popping up since everything looks fine.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Do both offices use the same domain suffix? This sort of problem usually
comes up when the sites have different domain suffixes.

The best way to fix DNS problems across two sites it to make each DNS
server a secondary for the "other" site. The DNS server in each site can
then directly resolve names of machines from either site, because it has a
copy of the other site's DNS data.

Yeah both offices are on the same domain.

Nice workaround I will give it a try. I take it this is a fairly common bug?
