Hi All,

I was wondering if someone would mind checking my setup is correct.
I am having problems but don't know wether my setup is actually
correct.
Things ran fine like this for about 3 weeks then the problems began.

Setup is as follows:
2000 Server, 2 Nics, no ISA, 1st Nic=LAN 2nd Nic=WAN (though ADSL
Modem/Router)
The Internal Network runs fine.
WAN access keeps dropping out.
If I Disable WAN Nic & re-enable it works for a while before dropping
out again.
Also after reboot no WAN access until disable & re-enable of WAN Nic.
All I really want to know is have a made a boo boo on the basic
config.
Any advice much appeciated.
TIA
Rob

Rob,

The default gateway on the private NIC should be blank. The only default
gateway setting should be on the public NIC pointing to the ADSL router
(which I presume is at 192.168.1.1) .

I would take the DNS addresses off the public NIC and have the server
and the clients all use the local DNS on 192.168.0.254 . Modify this DNS to
forward to the external DNS servers (which you currently have in the public
NIC).
