Cable modem connection.
cannot resolve DNS names
WINIPCFG > shows 4 valid DNS servers and valid IP address
I can ping any valid IP [manually] but no names will
resolve.
does anyone have a solution or can point to one?

Are you sure those DNS servers are up and running DNS?

Are those tow computers able to resolve names from these DNS servers? Is it
possible that you have another DNS server's IP address on another NIC or a
dialup connection. Try a different DNS server that you know does work.
