Here is a strange problem. I created a stand alone windows
2003 server. Everything is fine, but if i specify a IP
address and a DNS. I can ping other devices but cannot
resolve anything. I cannot even ping the DNS server..yet,
if i set it all to use my DHCP, all is fine and I can
resolve pages and ping my DNS server.

So why is it that if i specify it, I cannot get any DNS?
Obviously my services and cabling is working fine, cause
it works on DHCP. Any suggestions..

Also, anytime i make a change to my IP settings, i get a
Microsoft TCP/IP box saying:

Warning- Multiple default gateways are installed to
provide redundancy to a single nework. They will not
function properly when the gateways are on two seperate,
disjoint networks.

DO you wan to save yes or no.

I can only see 1 gateway installed..no clue where it
thinks i have others./..

Well, I resolved that error, my bad, but it had nothing to
do with the issue. Seems like it works only on DHCP, if i
am static, I can ping internal devices, but not the DNS or
browse the net. Anyone? Ive been looking all day on the
net.

UPDATE:

Here is what I have done. I installed windows 2000 server,
still the same issue. Now the server has 2 onboard NICS,
ive disabled both and added a PCI nic. Same thing. SO now
I am blowing it away for the 5th time, installing back
2003 but this time, I will not use the Dell server
assitant CD and see what Happens. Ive talked to my
firewall manufacturer and they said all is fine, which i
already knew. Next I guess is to talk with DELL after all
the troubleshooting ive done.

ANyone have ideas? Again, DHCP works perfect..Static IP, i
can only ping other IP's, cannot resolve a DNS.

IF YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE RIGHT..DO IT YOURSELF!!

So yesterday I called the firewall manufacturer..asked
them to log into my firewall, run some queries and check
things out..they then said..all looks good..So I called
dell, told them i wanted a new motherboard, they sent it
and I dropped it in. Still didnt work...about 2 days ago,
I asked a tech to try a static IP on his workstation
instead of DHCP, he said it worked..so i never though
about it again..anyways, I took my laptop, plugged it into
the same cable..didnt work..so i was like..this is serious
now..unplugged a printer, tried that port..same
thing..then tried my system, changed to static from
DHCP..didnt work..So now I knew it was bigger than the box
itself..If my co-worker said he tried it 2 days ago..he
lied and basically i trusted him, skipped that part of the
puzzle..but i wasted 2 days on this because of a simple
fix..restarted the firewall..all is good now..so a lesson
learned here...never take anyones word for it..do it
yourself because its the only way it will get done..
Thanks to who helped...
