DNS documents for thorough understanding.

Hi guys,
Any idea about the documents required to gain a thorough
understanding of DNS?
I am supposed to do a project in Solaris regarding DNS ... not sure
about which aspect but my guide asked me to learn the way it works (
technically ). I did get some RFCs on www.ietf.org but if anyone could
point me to some more helpful documents, I'd be really grateful.

The most straightforward should be installing Linux on some PC,
doesn't matter if you run bind on solaris or linux. Head over to
www.tldp.org, read the DNS Howto and setup your own simple DNS
server as instructed by the howto. During setup you should gather
the basics how it works.
