Hello

I have 3 DC (W2K SP4) with AD-int DNS in secure mode.
I have also 2 DHCP-servers (W2K SP4) with several scopes, lease-time is 8
days.
We have 3500 XP SP1 with static ip-adresses
We are going over to DHCP on this 3500 PC:s

I'm now think of using scavinging the records in DNS.

Does scaving only set a time stamp on dynamic records?
I have also several (50-100) static records in my DNS, does scavinging also
set time stamps on my static records?

What is a good "scavening period" i days if I have a lease-time is 8 days?

Regards Mikael

Static IP records are not aged and scavenged like dynamic records. The
default is seven days period for scavenging to begin and then records be
deleted after seven days. I would leave the default as is unless you have a
special situation. --- Steve
