pestocat, I'm not an expert in this field, but I did delete my root hints
once because I thought I didn't need them. Well, it turns out that I did
need them. You might or might not need them, that all depends on your
network setup. Here are a few of the pages that helped me through it. Some
may apply to Windows 2000 Server, but Windows Server 2003 is so similar that
you may also find them helpful.
Read this page first, as it will give you an understanding as to what root
hints are and how they work. Then, if you feel you should delete them, go
onto the MS pages below to do it.
