a Wireless connection on my laptop (Toshiba Travelmate 800 with built-in
Intel Pro/Wireless 802.11b card and Win XP Pro SP2) stopped working. I have a
desktop connected wirelessly to the same access point so I know it's the
laptop. Also, when I connect the laptop to the access point with a cable I
don't have any problems.
The wireless networking icon on the task bar does not lit up at all. When I
right click on it and select repair the Repair Wireless Connection window
comes up with saying: Windows could not finish repairing the problem because
the following action cannot be completed: Cleaning the DNS cache.
I also run an Intel PROSet diagnostics wich does not show any issues with
both signal power and siganl quality are at full scale. The only peculiarity
is that Receive statistics show 0 directed and non directed packets.
Do you have any ideas what should be done at this point? Thanks
