Is there a way to audit uses of a DNS alias?

Scenario: NT 4.0 domain, Windows 2000 DNS. Phasing out an old server.
Creating an Alias record in DNS using the old Server name pointing to the new
server. Want to track what computer/user is using the Alias so we can
identify why and update it.
