Our current subnet is 192.168.168.0/ 255.255.255.0
we want to add a machine to a different subnet. This will be in our dmz.
Not being an expert at this, I would like to get some pointers for setting
this up. what should the subnet for the new dmz be? how about subnet
mask? This isnt a mission critical thing, just educational.

Thanks Much

CR

Greetings,

In a typical network enviroment an admin will use the configuration of the
router to assign a machine to a DMZ. If you wish to have a complete network
wide open to the internet then that would be something you would have to
create in your network design.

Not really sure what your trying to accomplish, one PC wide open or a whole
network. If it's one PC, use the DMZ option on your firewall.

Hope this helps,
