dmz to lan access

Here is the scenario:

Internet -> ext. NIC <- ISA 2000 -> DMZ NIC -> 3Com FW -> LAN

What is the best way to route DMZ traffic to the LAN? I am able to
accomplish this by setting the Default Gateway on the DMZ to the public
3Com FW IP, but I have read that this is not a good idea.

The DMZ has a public IP range (same subnet as WAN port on 3Com FW)

Can someone give some advice?

If it is the DMZ, why do you want to traffic from DMZ to the LAN? I believe the LAN should be able to access the DMZ.

The ISA Server in the DMZ acts a proxy for an OWA server on the LAN.
The ISA Server needs to be able to connect to the private subnet behind
a second firewall.
