Hello.

I've got an 802.11b WiFi card in my laptop which works fine for me in one
location - where I can wirelessly access the Internet and VPN into my
company's network. I recently setup a DLink Wireless AP in another
location - but what I'm experiencing is:

1. If I'm in VPN, I can do email, etc. (i.e. work functions) fine, but no
browsing (no proxy servers required by my co. btw)

2. If I'm out of VPN, I can browse Internet fine wirelessly.

Sounds like a relatively simple switch setting somewhere - if anyone has any
ideas, I'd be much obliged.

Thx in advance,
-Dave

I would check with your work IT people. They can be found by following
the trail of Cheetos and Mountain Dew cans: usually a closet with a
power outlet. They might have disabled browsing and other functions from
their end due to the onslaught of msblast, etc.

Check the default gateway when you are using the VPN. Probably set to use a
gateway at wotk that has no route to the Internet for browsing. Change the
setting to not use remote default gateway and see if that helps.
