Hi,

Any input form anyone who had/has the same problem woud be great!

H/W: D-Link AirPlusXtremeGTM DWL-G650 Wireless Cardbus Adapter H/W B2
F/W 2.23
Note Book: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D

Problem: Laptop hangs randomly any where between 30s and 10mins of use
when card is in unit. There is no additional H/W attached to the unit
and sigal is excellent.

Tried so far: Clean (format) of XP home with no additional, (other
than system drivers) software installed. Also latest drivers from
D-link. Disabled on board NIC device. Got the card swapped for
another.

Any input would be good, I have emailed D-Link and await a responce.

You guys/girls got any useful ideas I could take a bash at.

Thanks in advance.

Miles.

Try downloading and running EndItAll, and see if that fixes the problem.
If it does then you've got a lot of unwanted processes running in the
background in your PC and grabbing all the resources. You can download
EndItAll from here:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,26639,00.asp

Please let us (me) know how you get on.

It sounds like a great utility. Any idea where I can download it without
paying $20 first?

They charging for it now? Try doing a Google for version 1 which is
(was) free and works OK on all Win up to and including XP. In fact
that's what I use.

Yeah, $20US is required membership to download. I was able to find it with
a google search though. Thanks Tony!

Please let me know if running it has solved your lock-up problem.

Hi all,

This is the solution to the problem..

After much messing about and trying the suggested software backgroud
killer ( thanks for the input ) I was still getting no where. I
beleive it is just not compatible with some aspect of the notebook.

The chipset in the d-link G650+ is Atheros, so I swapped for a Belkin
54G which has a Broadcom chipset and hey presto! problem solved.

Sorry I did not find a real solution but I was under pressure for the
users ( you know how it is ) so I needed to get it working.

Thanks for the input folks

Now for the D-link 604 ADSL router...ooerrrr, put it this way I got
the FM update already! and it aint even on site yet.

Miles.
