Idle timeout:
Same as on normal dialup. If you don't use it for a certain defined
period, it disconnects from the broadband connection. A pretty
pointless thing unless you're charged by the minute.
Keep Alive:
Sends a ping to the ISP servers periodically to stop them disconnecting
you if they implement Idle Timeout.
On Demand:
Same as dialup. If there's no connection and you want internet access,
it'll connect automatically.
Uncheck On Demand. Unless your ISP implements a very low monthly
download allowance or you pay per minute, there's no point on DSL.
