I have the DI624 (vers B) with all of the latest drivers and the DWL-G520
with all of the latest drivers for Super G compatibility. Everything works
fine with Super G disabled, but with it enabled, my remote computer sends
data over the network MUCH more slowly. For instance, in standard 54Mbps
mode, several files transfer in 30 seconds whereas with Super G (that is,
108 Mbps) and turbo enabled (in Static Mode since I only use these two
compatible products) the same files would take an hour!
Music playing is normal from one computer to the next in 54 Mbps mode, but
halting in 108 Mbps mode. I don't think the hardware is defective (and it's
too late to return it if it is...)- I feel like something in the other
settings for the router or else perhaps in the motherboard's BIOS on the
remote computer could be to blame, but I don't know where to begin to look
for a solution. (I've emailed D-Link- but they want me to call them as if I
have time to do so)
I'm running Win XP Pro on both computers. Yes, the WZC is disabled and yes,
I use the Dlink utility. (I have a feeling that the latter is the culprit-
the old drivers showed a much more solid link then the new ones)
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Paul
