dlink di-713p router wired connection not working but wireless works

I have a dlink DI-713p router. I am able to connect my laptop thru a
wireless card to this router, but my wired connection to the desktop
does not work. I cannot even get to the router ip http://192.168.0.1
thru the wired connection. I have win xp w/ sp2 on the desktop

My modem is connected to the router & the router to the desktop. I know
that the network cable & NIC card works, because I can connect the
desktop directly to the modem & go online.

Dlink no longer provides technical support for the router.

1. Swap the ethenet cable.

2. Check that you haven't invoked MAC address filtering and are blocking
the desktop NIC.

3. Google for winsockxpfix.exe to repair layered services on the desktop
computer.

4. Check the desktop firewall settings to allow the LAN as a trusted
network.
