Hey,
Just a quick postie; to anyone who has D-Link's DI-614+ (Rev. A or B.), how
is it? Have you experienced any problems with it playing games or using
programs that need Internet access? If so, what games/programs are they?

I'm looking to replace my Linksys BEFW11S4 Ver.4 in a few days, and D-Link's
DI-614+ seems to be a good choice. I'm also looking to Netgear's
counterpart, although I'm not sure which one it is yet. (MR814, I guess?)

Any post is appreciated, thank you.

I've got a 614+ and are very pleased with its long range. It was my highest
priority when chose it. As of speed, I've set it to standard 11 Mbps just to
keep it to an ordinary standard, keeping clear of any problems 22 Mbps or 44
Mbps settings may cause.

It's using Firmware 2.18 and I suspect there might be a problem with DHCP.
I've experienced very often that it hangs after a while. I'm now trying if
my suspicions may be right, by setting two of the pcs to fixed adress
outside the DHCP scope. One pc I've left on DHCP, just to see if the 614+
can cope. It has been a some days since the last time it hung, let's hope it
gets better

Before the D-link I had a 3Com Gateway/Router, one of the cheapest. I never
experienced so much problems with it. The only problem it had was related to
ADSL and disconnecting after a set periode. With the old firmware I set it
to never disconnect and it gave me no problems. After a firmware upgrade
earlier this year, the disconnecting function worked as supposed.

I have had it for a couple of weeks. Fine so far, although they seem to
have yanked the 3.20 firmware from the website. Tech support basically did
not have a clue why.

BTW, there is a B revision of the router, with only one antenna, vs. 2 for
the (presumably) A revision, with different firmware.

Is the 714+P the same as the 614+ but with a printer port added?

I have had a DI-614+ since they came out and have had no problems. I would
certainly buy one again. I don't play games but I do pretty much everything
else and have had no problems.

Hi there, Juvi

have my DI-614+ in use for ~10 months now and didn't have any problems
with it so far.

In my config it works as a slave router in my Netgear RT314's address
space, so DHCP, NAT, gateway-functions, Filters and Port forwards etc
are all controlled by the RT314 which is better suited for that, imho.

The 614+ works fine and covers our house(2 story) + garden pretty
well. I am using it daily with these WLAN devices:
* Dlink CF WLAN (Dell Axim)
* Netgear MA101
* Compaq TC1000 TabletPC internal WLAN card

All the devices work with 128b-WEP encryption and MAC filtering on the
Dlink enabled, to keep snoopers out for a while at least. Changing the
keys from time to time helps as well

Never updated the 614+ Firmware so far as it runs fine the way it is
(V2.5 or so).

First I've had mine for a couple weeks now and it's worked nicely. I
switched off the DHCP as I was having
problems getting it to connect. With 'static dhcp' I haven't had a problem
and I've noticed it reacts alot
quicker if I take my laptop out of range. I've got a DWL-650+ running Win2k
talking to it and my XP laptop
with a Dell truemobile 1150 (orinoco hack) running also without problems.

As far as the resolving DHCP out of hibernation I believe this was a
windows problem and there's a patch for
it on the microsoft.com site.
