I upgraded my DI-524 to version 1.05 and now it seems my internet connection
is terrible.
Has anyone else had any problems with this firmware upgrade?

Steve

Damn, you're fast. 1.05 was just released yesterday.

1. Did you reset the router back to defaults after doing the flash
update?

2. If you have DSL with PPPoE, did you remember to change your MTU
from 1500 to 1492?

3. Is your unspecified client radio an 802.11b or 802.11g radio? If
802.11b, you might wanna disable the data rates over 11Mbits/sec and
see if that helps. 802.11g burns quite a bit of time dealing with
"compatible" 802.11b clients. (I'm not sure if 1.05 has this
feature).

4. Sometimes the WAN port NWAY negotiation protocol and speed screw
up. 1.05 adds a feature where you can set the WAN port to some
specific protocol and speed. I suggest 10baseT Half-Duplex.

I upgrade mine and all hell broke lose. I had the following issues

1) My Compaq laptop with a Dlink DWL-g630 began to drop the connection
every one an one half minutes

2) If I tried to use MAC filtering, none of the wireless connections
worked. I have this working find on 1.03

3) The router rebooted about every 5 hours with no reason.

I rolled back to 1.03 and all my misery went away except I can not use
WPA which is why I went to this. This firmware is not ready for Prime
time

I hate it when that happens. There are a few comments on DSLReports,
and they all say that 1.05 has problems.

I confirm a similar experience -- WPA works but NO MAC filtering for
wireless connections (WiFi-G for me), and I got disconnected every
5-10 minutes. Went back to 1.03 with WEP and MAC filtering (WPA being
broken in 1.03). Reported all of this to D-Link.
