DLink 900AP+ repeater mode problems

I had this working in a previous firmware. Got two 900AP+s, one as
access point, one I'm trying to configure as a repeater. When I enable
WEP and copy the settings from the access point to the repeater, the
repeater is not seen by clients. If I disable WEP in the repeater, it's
seen by the clients, but I can't connect to the LAN or internet. The
access point works fine with the clients with WEP enabled. Tried
disabling WEP all around, still no go. According to several sites, the
repeater must be set the same as the access point, but I'm pulling my
hair out here. Any ideas?

Get it working without WEP first, then add it... When you do a SITE SURVEY
it automatically configures the 900AP+ for repeater mode, ie. match up the
MAC addresses. Just be aware that the clients need to see only the
repeater and not the AP, otherwise they'll hop between them...

Hmmm, how do you stop the clients from hopping between the AP and the
repeater?
