Hi,
I have an aus version of the 614+. Bought it back in early august and soon
posted here for help where the dlink and wireless cards would not work. The
dlink said it had issued IPs but the wireless cards had windows default IPs
assigned.
I contacted dlink AUS on 19-Aug-03 asking about this. The response I got was
that it was either a windows or a belkin (the wireless card i'm using)
problem.
So I perservered with assigning IPs by hand and forcing them to connect by
doing a ping and a traceroute.
Low and behold today I check the AUS dlink web site and find a v2.2 firmware
( came with 2.18). Comment in the changes field "fixed wireless
performance".
Downloaded it, and all my problems are solved, the IPs are received and
assigned correctly, no changes anywhere else in my system, just the dlink
firmware
And the date of the issued firmware? 25-Aug-03
If it was a known issue, why not say so when I enquired through tech
support? Then I know I should see a new firmware soon, or if my email and
perhaps a few others made them look at the issue, why not email those who
instigated the change an email letting them know it was resolved?
Not happy Jan.
just my whinge for the festive season (bah - humbug)
Cheers
