I have a legacy app that uses the DLC protocol. Is there a way to get the
DLC protocol working on Windows Server 2003? I have downloaded the
unsupported DLC protocol from Microsoft and installed it. It does not work.

Are there services or protocols that need to be disabled to allow the DLC
protocol to work?

It there a third party version of the DLC protocol?

Thanks for your help.

Did you ever get this to work?
I have the same problem, ran the install.cmd, shows up in protocols but
couldn't add printer ports. Copied reg from win2000 and added hpmon.dll in
system32
Showed up in gui but still can add.

Any help greatly appreciated

After some searching on the Web I learned that the installation procedure
does not start the DLC protocol nor does it configure it for automatic start
on boot up.

The DLC protocol can be started manually with the following command:

net start dlc

The location in the registry to set the automatic startup is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\D LC

Change the 'Start' value to a 1.

Hope this helps.
