Distance/speed/price/value?

Daughter and 3 friends from her collage have rented flat in north London for
a year.
They need broadband
It's about 1k from exchange.
It has no phone so they are having that put in.
I recommended UKFSN's 'Max 30'* 8mbps for £19.99 (+£10.50 for phone rental)
One of the other's boyfriend says Sky's 16mbps "unlimited" is a better deal
at £35

Any opinions or advice for them?

If they're going to pay that they may as well get Sky TV in... It'd have
the added benefit of free evening and weekend calls which may be handy
for students calling home etc.

Sorry should have added that only one of them wants the TV - three don't.
They discovered last year that it stopped them studying and it's an extra
£13 for the licence. As for the phone - advice from other flat renters say
don't have one, as arguments about who made what (charged for) calls are
just too tiresome. They currently all get their parents to phone their
mobiles :-)
For free calls home they can use Skype - particularly as one is a yank -
(Guess which one wants the TV :-)
