I'm guessing you have ADSL and a PPPoE account?
If you're using a network, I suggest you get a cheap hardware
firewall/router appliance and use that to share your Internet connection,
instead. Less resource load on the server, and works a lot better, as well.
You can pick up a decent Netgear for about $80. Make sure it isn't just a
NAT device but also includes an SPI firewall - won't protect you from
everything, but it's a good place to start.
