If I disconnect my Windows 2003 computer from the network or I disconnect
the domain controller, somehow windows and Internet explorer slow down when
opening or doing some actions.
For example, when I click the Internet Explorer icon it opens the main
windows but hangs for 10 seconds (aprox.). This doesn't happens if the
computer can reach the domain controller.

Any ideas?

AD clients rely on DNS to "find" just about anything.

They don't have access to a DNS server so what you see is expected.
