disconnecting every 4 minutes

I have wireless internet, but it disconnects every 4 minutes, signal
strenght is medium. What settings should I check? I have windows XP, and an
intel proset card. Help!

try your IP address, release time, set it to 24hours

If you are using the windows zero configuration program check to see
if it is setup to periodically scan for a better access point. If it
is turn this setting off and it may solve your problem.

How do you change the settings on the Wireless Zero Service to stop scanning
periodically for a better access point? I don't see any setting like that at
all for the Zero service.

Open the advanced properties of the wireless connection. Uncheck the
box "automatically connect to non-preferred networks". Remove all
wireless networks from preferred networks except your own. Uncheck
802.11x authentication, if it is checked.
