Disassociation and "Network Unavailable"

I have an USRobotics router, which is also a WIreless AP, (USR8020)
and a centrino portable computer, that came with the "Intel Pro Wireless LAN
2100 3B Mini PCI", and I have been experiencing several problems with my
wireless network.
Sometimes I am working with the portable computer and the wireless
network becomes "Unavailable" for a couple of seconds and then connects again.
When connected, I always have "full speed" with the connection and the AP is 2
meter away, from the place I have the notebook.
Today I had another of those problems but the connectio never
returned. I checked the router log and there I have "Wireless Station ...
disassociation" and now I can't get the portable to connect to the AP. I
already rebooted it with no luck.
What does this "disassociation" mean? Is this a hardware problem?
Configuration?
Thanks in advance for your help.
