Disabling Network Adaptor

Got 2 network adaptors installed currently. One seems to
be conflicting with the other. When trying to uninstall or
disable the conflicting adaptor Win98 completely freezes
up. This happens if the attempt is made through Network or
System.

Is there a way to forceably remove the adaptor that is
causing the conflict?

I don't think you described in any detail what you'd tried.

One possibility is to do it via the device manager:
Right click "My Computer" and select "Properties" then the
"Device Manager" tab and select "Network Adapters" followed
by the one you want to eliminate and "Properties" -- check
"Disable in this hardware profile" and reboot

Another is to go to Control Panel -> Network -> the adapter
in question and either remove it or unbind it from all
protocols

A third non-screwdriver (but still hardware) way is to
pull its Cat5 cable out.

So which have you tried?

Tried all 3 of those. The first two are what cause the
win98 freeze up I mentioned.
