I am using Windows 98 second edition.
When I boot up, before I get onto my desktop, I get the
microsoft networking box appearing, asking for my password.
Is there any way I can disable this Networking, so I don't
have to insert my password anymore?
I just want to boot up straight to my desktop.
Thanks.
Please send any replies to

Ian

In Network Properties, change the login to Windows Login. Then, when it
asks for a password, hit OK, not Esc. Then confirm the blank password.
That should stop the popup.

I just tried doing that. I changed to Windows Login, then
it said I would have to re-start my computer. I re-started,
then the Networking box appeared as usual. There are 2
options, OK and Cancel.
If you click OK, it tells me that my password is incorrect.
(That's without typing a password in)
If I clicked Cancel, my desktop comes on, but then my
Freeserve dial up box doesn't store my password anymore.
Am I missing something or doing what you suggested?
Thanks.
Ian
