I've got two computers (xp and w98se) hooked up to a router that's fed by a
cable modem. With XP I can disable the net connection easy using the "LAN"
connection icon. How do you do this in Windows 98se??

You can pull out the network cable.

Releasing the IP address will disable network access, and renewing the
IP address will enable network access. You can do that using Start |
Run | Winipcfg or using the "ipconfig /release_all" and "ipconfig
/renew_all" commands. You can put the "ipconfig" commands in batch
files if desired.
