How to disable Network Password window at startup

How can I disable the window that pops up at startup
asking for a network password? I set the windows
password to be blank, i.e. none, but I still get the
request before Windows starts. The only option I have
in "passwords" is the Window password. I didn't have
this until I did enter a password, resetting it to a
blank didn't elimineate it.

Will this get rid of the networking request for
password? I got rid of the windows password. Then will
the network operate without entering a password or do I
need to keep this?

Yes, this will get rid of the network password prompt, which is why I sent
it because that is what you requested.

On a standard peer-to-peer network you do not need to utilize the password
prompt for the network to function. Only in corporations where you log into
a domain server do you need that.

Hope this helps.

OK thanks, will try it today. Sorry I got confused by
the reference to the windows password vs. network. When
I set up the peer-peer network, there was no window. I
entered a windows password, because I thought it
would "lock" the PC like my XP system does. When I found
out it is really only for user preferences in ME, I set
it to blank, but it still comes up. Thanks again.

Carey,
Thanks for the tip, worked fine. I did not have to muck
around with the .pwl files. Did all but that step, and
tried it first.
