Well, that sounds like the port you are trying to use is not installed or
configured correctly. I forget the details, but I think there is an option
for bi-directional operation that you will need. Or, there is an ECC?
option that may also work. And I forget if you do the configuration in the
BIOS or Control Panel. I had an old laptop that had some sort of design
problem with the then new port specification. If your laptop is less than
five years old, that shouldn't be the problem. Sorry my memory is so vague.
